Beautiful lake home!!
We stayed for a week at this gorgeous lakefront home. There was more than enough space for two families (with kids) to enjoy the home, the property and the lake. Not only is interior beautifully decorated, but the outdoor space is spectacular. Deep covered decks with water views were the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The dock is perfect for relaxing, fishing or launching kayaks and boats. This quiet retreat does not disappoint.
Perfect Labor Day Weekend Getaway
Our multi-generational family meets at SML every Labor Day Weekend for one last end of summer hoorah! Foothills Retreat was the icing on the cake. From the beautiful and welcoming accommodations, to the perfect lake location on a cove, we had the best time making memories for a lifetime. We will definitely be using Bellville Getaways for many years to come!
Father/Grandfather (Pappy)
Our extended family of 18 (10 young children) stayed the week over Labor day and we all found a comfy place to sleep. Each family had a bathroom which worked great. There was a power outage which caused a problem with the internet (Xfinity problem). Mike made some calls and got them out sooner than expected to get internet working. The men who came out couldn't fix the internet but did repair a flat tire we had which saved us hours to get fixed! As mentioned the view from the decks are beautiful and the outside fireplace was a gathering point in the morning and evening. We all agreed this was our best week at SML yet. I would recommend Foothills Retreat.
We really enjoyed hosting you all. Sometimes nature gets in the way but we'll continue to do our best to stay on top of everything guests need! Our team is always there to help.
Beautiful Family Getaway
We rented this property with our extended family for a week-long vacation. The home has a nice layout for big group gatherings and was clean and well maintained. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet and the neighbors were friendly. The hot tub, pool and foosball table, and paddle boards down at the dock were all great bonuses. We had a few minor issues during our stay and the host was available and always very responsive. They even sent someone out to clean and service the hot tub in the middle of the week without us asking even though it had been cleaned in between guests' visits before we came. After our stay we made recommendations to the host to replace the downstairs deck furniture (a bit rickety), add another large refrigerator to the property (for larger groups), and service some loose steps down to the water. We also strongly suggested the host review and possibly change their listing to say the house accommodates 14 people, not 16, as we did not feel the amount of beds truly reflected accommodating 16 people. We are giving this property a 5/5 for cleanliness and host's responsiveness which were both excellent and what matters most to us at any property we stay at. We would definitely stay at Foothills retreat again, although maybe with not so many people so the bed situation would be more comfortable!

Fabulous Fall Getaway
We had large group for a family reunion and rented three houses side by side at the lake. This cozy house was perfect for group of seven. The kitchen was well stocked, house was clean, The views from the elevated porch were gorgeous. The beautiful porch is a key feature of this property. The outdoor fireplace was out of commission which was unfortunate since we were really looking forward to using it during this beautiful, chilly fall weekend. I'd like to return when it's back in order. The driveways to all of the homes were very steep, but the bottom of drive at this home is flat and on level with the front door. So, it's easy enough to unload and load cars. The walk down to the dock requires sure footedness as the gravel path can be tricky to traverse. We would rent again!

Excellent stay
Plenty of room for a group of 8 adults. Loved the outdoor living area. Bit of a steep walk to the water, but nobody in the group had any problem with it.

Summer family vacation
4 families enjoyed a wonderful week at Foothills Retreat! The house was equipped with plenty of amenities. We especially enjoyed using the pool table but spent most of our time down on the dock or in the water. Would definitely recommend this rental!

Lovely Winter Weekend
My family traveled with two other families for a last minute weekend getaway in January. We had a lovely stay at Foothills Retreat. The house was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. While it was cold so we didn’t get to enjoy the lake, it was still beautiful to look at and we enjoyed sitting out by the fire pit. The basement amenities were perfect for the teens. Kitchen was fully stocked. We also enjoyed visiting some local spots including an arcade and coffee shop. We would love to come back when it’s warm and fully enjoy the area.

Very nice new house
The house is very nice and new, great location. We enjoyed our time there. There were a couple of minor issues that the management company resolved promptly. Overall we liked it a lot.

Family getaway kids ages 6-11
This was a beautiful home that held 3 families for a week stay. Kids ranged in age from 6-11. We had an amazing week! The house was super functional, and beautifully (yet comfortably) decorated. We had everything we needed and more. The walk to the dock was a bit steep but it was no problem for us. Someone with mobility/health issues may want to ask about the current status of the walkway as it may still be in the process of being completed. Overall it was an awesome stay- We will be back!
